Price your grocery list in ChatGPT with TrolleyChecker (Plus)

Connect ChatGPT to TrolleyChecker via MCP, paste your shopping list, and get Aldi vs Coles vs Woolworths totals in chat — then save a checklist on your phone.

Who this is for

TrolleyChecker Plus members who already write a shopping list and want multi-store totals in ChatGPT instead of copying the list into the website every time.

One-time setup

  1. Sign in to TrolleyChecker and open Settings.
  2. Under Shopping preferences, add your suburb/postcode and tap I usually shop at Aldi if that matches how you shop.
  3. Under ChatGPT connector, create a key and copy it immediately (it is only shown once).
  4. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors (or Apps & connectors) and add a custom MCP / connector:
    • URL: your TrolleyChecker MCP URL from Settings (ends with /api/mcp)
    • Auth: Bearer token — paste the tc_… key
  5. In a ChatGPT project or custom instructions, paste the setup bundle from Settings (not your secret key).

Each shop

Paste a list: Drop your list into chat (one item per line is fine). ChatGPT calls TrolleyChecker and replies with store totals, missing items, and a link to open the result on the site.

Use a saved list: If your list already lives on the TrolleyChecker dashboard, say something like “Price my Weekly shop list on TrolleyChecker.” ChatGPT can list your folders and price the right one.

Save for the aisle: Ask ChatGPT to save the priced list to TrolleyChecker so you can tick items off on your phone.

On the website (without ChatGPT)

  • Detailed compare: From a dashboard list, use the scale icon to open List scan — full item-by-item compare (unlimited for Plus).
  • Quick summary: Use the sparkle icon for the same short summary ChatGPT returns (counts toward the daily connector limit).

Limits and accuracy

Plus connector pricing is capped at 20 full-list checks per Sydney calendar day to cover live search costs. Prices are indicative — always confirm at the register.
